3/22/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: Ms. Cosby contacted QMHP-C and requested todayâs family counseling session in which she reported JaCaeri was involved in an act of disrespect and verbal aggression directed at her 1xâs with moderate intensity during a 45 second incident today. She reported the incident was uncalled for and he needs to apologize for his actions. Behavior: JaCaeri then joined session and reported what she calls disrespect he calls thinking for himself and becoming independent. JaCaeri admitted to yelling at her 1xâs with moderate intensity during the 45 second incident but stated she initiated the confrontation and that is the reason he refuses to apologize. Intervention: QMHP-C probed JaCaeri and parent as to their request for todayâs family counseling session. QMHP-C had to verbally prompt parent on one or two occasions for her to continue verbalizing her thoughts and feelings openly to QMHP-C and JaCaeri during session. QMHP-C then modeled and taught parent positive methods to better help her son reach this long term goal and follow instructions in a timely manner as well as how to respect her in her home. Intervention: QMHP-C then probed JaCaeri why he chose this particular goal as he stated his mother has worked very hard this past week and it would be nice for him to be able to make her proud of him by him displaying acts of respect on a daily basis. QMHP-C then prompted JaCaeri to openly speak about the incident today in which he yelled at parent 1x's with moderate intensity. Response: JaCaeri and parent seemed receptive to todayâs family counseling session in which, they verbalized understanding of session. Parent verbalized that this short term goal would help her out much, especially if everyone else helped out too. Parent stated she wants JaCaeri to be a positive role model to his younger sibling but that she wants him to lead by example. She then reported she thinks JaCaeri has been trying to do his best to be respectful and follow instructions but stated itâs hard sometimes because he is grown now. Response: JaCaeri seemed receptive to all advice given to him by QMHP-C and responded he will do his best to improve his ability to respect parent more often. JaCaeri decided on a short term goal for himself to achieve for the current week. He reported his mother also needs to treat him like an adult and respect his time and space in the home as well.
